2 Bedroom House in Garden Bay

Our ocean front vacation home was a boathouse that has been converted to a two bedroom cottage. The interior of the cottage has been recently renovated and includes the following:
• a fully equipped kitchen
• two large bedrooms with hardwood floors (one bedroom has a king size bed and a futon couch and the second bedroom has a queen size bed and a cuddle chair.
• two full bathrooms
• a large flat screen TV with DVD player
• WiFi
•. stacked washer & dryer
• wood burning stove
• comfortable furnishings
This is an exceptional ocean front property with over 300 feet of low bank level waterfront located in a very private setting on two-third acre. The converted boathouse is only 20 feet from the water and the large lot is flat so there are no hills to climb. The property features a deep water dock with access to fresh water and power and can accommodate up to a 40 foot boat. In addition, the property has a large glassed-in deck located over the water with gate access to launch kayaks or canoe. The owners have two kayaks for use by their guests. From the front of the living room, many hours could be spent watching boats and seaplanes arriving and leaving the harbour. At night, the place is serene and quiet. Many animals including deer, bears, eagles and sea otters have visited the property.
Some local attractions include hiking at Mount Daniel Park and Skookumchuk Narrows, ocean and lake swimming, boating, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, art galleries and Sunday Jazz at local pubs. Whether you are looking for an active or relaxing vacation, this is the place for you.
For your shopping needs, the village of Madeira Park is a 20 minutes drive from the cottage and it has a well stocked grocery store, pharmacy, credit union, a new spa, restaurants and pubs, liquor store, gift shops, etc.
Our cottage is a 40 minute scenic ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and about an hour and 15 minutes drive up the Sunshine Coast Highway (Highway 101) to Garden Bay, Pender Harbour.

Summary: We boated up from Birch Bay. It was perfect for our group of 2 couples. The red adirondack chairs were are beacon from the water. The dock was great. We boated around the harbor and had access to a grocery store, BBQ truck, John Henry's for fuel and food. The hosts were great! We enjoyed the view from all the wonderful spots to sit. The kayak and paddle board deck, the screened gazebo, and the front deck. The house was very comfortable and well stocked. It is a perfect jumping off spot to enjoy the Sunshine Coast by boat.

Summary: We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful waterfront property. The space was clean, comfortable and roomy, and extremely well stocked. The outdoor living spaces were absolutely spectacular. It is beautifully landscaped with flowers and lovey planters and a koi pond! There are several outdoor living spaces to eat, have a coffee, rad a book, and have a glass of wine. There are kayaks and life jackets available to use, and my kids loved getting out on the water everyday right from the dock in front of the property. We were very fortunate to be able to enjoy a vacation with our dog here. This home was convenient to many great hikes like Pender Hill and Francis Point, beautiful lakes like Garden Bay and Katherine Lake, and some good restaurants like the Ruby Lake trattoria, Grasshopper pub and the cafe at John Henry. We had a very memorable vacation here and hope to come back!

Summary: We had an amazing week at this Hospital Bay retreat. Everything is as depicted in the pictures. Our days were filled with kayaking and paddle boarding. We sat in the sun and enjoyed the view. The kitchen was well stocked and this made it easy to cook and enjoy our dinners on the deck. It was a week of rest, relax and repeat! We hope to return!

Summary: We stayed at the Boathouse last year and had such a wonderful time we returned again this year. Perfect location for a family getaway. House was spotless and super-stocked with everything you could possibly want or need. Love the easy access to kayaks and fishing off the wharf. Had four deer visit us one evening and a family of otters hanging around for our stay. Also enjoyed watching the neighbor feed "his" eagle. Always a pleasure staying here. Will be returning next year for sure !

Summary: A perfect setting for a relaxing summer break, with amazing views. We really enjoyed the variety of outside space around The Boathouse, the local hikes and slower pace of the southern Sunshine Coast. The property is exactly as described with a well equipped kitchen for at home dining. Very grateful we had an opportunity to experience this place and we hope to return.
